Silent Hill 2

That game knew how to build atmosphere. There was this point early on where you walked on the side of a mountain and things were pretty quiet up to that point IIRC. Anyway, you started to hear all kinds of strange noises not loud jump scare type noises but it was just creepy little sounds as you walked along. The threat of danger was there and you didn't know if something was gonna happen or not. I played this part in the day time and it still got to me.

It happened multiple times, there was another point in the game where you went to a prison and you kept hearing shuffling around like monsters were walking very close to you and it dark as hell in there. There was a room in the game that was pitch black and you didn't know what was in there until you walked around and it was quiet. I remember having this feeling deep down in my stomach of being uncomfortable several times.

To this day, I've only played and beaten that game once.

Toss up between playing Halo 3 (or 4) by myself on Legendary or playing COD World At War's campaign on the hardest difficulty. Both had respawning cheap enemies, few and far between checkpoints but I give the nod to WOW for cheapness 'cause even though you'd do best going low and taking it slow as opposed to just being the guns blazing one man army that all these FPS games make you out to be, you could quickly lose your life and progress by randomly generated snipers that you can't hit or even if you did, would respawn due to the Monster locker being left open all the time.

Plus they used to lob grenades at you to the point where the game was almost comical. :shaq2: Hell, come to think of it, I think someone had a theory tha Grenades SPAWNED as opposed to being thrown in that shyt.:mindblown:
I remember I just gave up on WaW because of the grenades

I don't mean stressful as in frustrating, but stressful as in pressured. For me it had to be Dead Space 1 on the 360. I bought it not knowing much about it and I could only play it in short burst because of of scary that game was (I love horror), but when it came to the part where the ship was running out of oxygen and you're under a time counter, only for a unkillable regen alien to show up and hunt you down... man that was stressful as hell lol. I don't think any other game has made me feel like that before. The closest was Resident Evil 7 on the psvr while getting chased around the first house.
As soon as I saw the title and without clicking in the thread I said "Dead Space".

But on PS3 for me.

almost any game i played between the ages of 10 and 16...

we had one video game rental store

it only had like 20 games

there just about always checked out

2 day rentals then they were 15 a day after the two days and my Moms WAS NOT paying for a 3rd day...

She worked graveyard so she took the game to work with here so I really only had a day and a half to play the game...

No joke one of the main reasons I even started selling weed as a teenager in the first place was so i could actually buy video games and own them...
