What's the official policy on reposting full articles?

Just want to clarify this because a poster a few weeks ago raised some doubts and concerns about whether it was safe to repost entire articles on here.

Should we just be posting an excerpt and linking to the full article or are we good to post the full articles on here?

There was a sticky saying to only quote important excerpts. I don't see it there anymore.

My guess is because you have papers like NYTimes and WashingtonPost trying to push a subscriber model and only let you read a few articles. So if people post their articles in full, they view it as "copyright infringement" (aka you're taking our money )

As far as I knew it wasn't a site rule but there are vague copyright issues as far as I'm concerned.

Last person who called me out on it here doesn't like the articles I share.

ok in that case, I'll keep posting as I have been (articles in full as long as they aren't ridiculously long, excerpt and a link if they are ridiculously long) until someone says otherwise

Theres nothing illegal about it....this is squarely within the fair use act
