What's the point of dap/undap?

I have dapped midway through a post...then had to undap due to the post taking a turn that I couldn't cosign.

Do undaps subtract from your dap count?

Ill dap a statement I agree with, ill dap a good point, dap a nikka out of respect, or posting style etc. Its Nikkas here that I would not piss on if they were on fire in real life I will not dap
