yeah if you just rockin' with a carry on, do that early check in, but if you have to check in a bag, you might as well check in at the kiosk because you will have to pay the $25 baggage fee except when you are with southwest, plus a lot of times when I travel i bring my gun

don't you get priority boarding if you check in earlier? So then you can wait around on the plane instead of waiting around in the terminal
The only advantage is choosing a seat if you havent yet.
