What's the point of punting in the Pre-Season??

need to practice special teams, see if your second team punter or may try a 65 yard kick, or different formations, as well see what guys you want on special teams

Special Teams needs practice and also depends on where you're on the field. I you're on your opp. 45 and its 4&4 and under some teams do just go for it, the skins did it week in the 1st preseason game.

But if you're advocating teams on their own 30 to go for it on 4th that would just diminish the integrity of pre-season games and will open the doors for a whole lot of other whacky non-game situation things.
