What's the point scale for championships in the NBA/NFL?

Bills made 4 straight Superbowls, but obviously lost and don't get as much credit as a single superbowl win. However 6 straight superbowl losses in my mind is as good as 1 Superbowl win in modern era because that's over half a decade of consistent excellence and you deserve credit.


6 points for a championship win....and 1 point for championship appearance.


Now extrapolate those points to the modern NBA. perennial all star players that have multiple top 10 MVP finishes:

Kareem has 40 points
Jordan has 36 points
Pippen has 36 points
Magic has 34 points
Kobe has 32 points
Duncan has 31 points
Bron has 30 points
Shaq has 26 points
Steph has 26 points
Wade has 20 points
Bird has 20 points
KD has 14 points


In terms of winning and dominance without factoring skill level the list speaks for itself.

That's why in my second post I said I could be convinced no points for getting swept.

In pro sports... weak conference or not...as long as you don't get swept as an elite player they get a point for their legacy.

LeBron would be down to 28 points because of the two sweeps. And Magic would be down to 32 points because of the two sweeps. Kareem knocked down to 38 points because of the two sweeps.

The Olympics is more of a participation event whereas in Basketball, Football, Baseball etc only one team can win the chip.
