What's the thinking behind "The Black Album" not being a classic?

Thought It was great when it first dropped. Some of the production hasn't aged well AT ALL. Which was common for his albums from Vol.2 - TBA...Blueprint being the exception.

Honestly this thread should be about American Gangster. That shyt might be his 3rd best album.

I thought the black album and blueprint was classic but hoc has to many throwaway tracks but when he's great he's great

Jay is the only great artist where when an album comes out its universally then turns to down the line.
