Sample based producers need them training wheels on at all times! You put them out on Reevis Island having to make chit on their own and a lot of em suck. Part of that sample gift is picking out something to reuse. I don't know if RZA could make a young chop drill beat with a 4 note melody. No disrespect just different elements of the artform. Some dudes 4 note melody it out. Some dudes play others sounds and use that as the centerpiece. I member one time I was on here it was a thread saying somebody's flip game was sick like "how did he come up with that idea" ummm by cluelessly pressing buttons on the MPC until it came out that way LOL. It's a lot of credit given when if the producers was that good they would just be playing the music theirself.

This is why I don't get the whole legend of how the flood held up wutang. Unless vocals was lost that wasn't written down. Why couldn't RZa just remake an awful beat in 5 minutes and Capadonna go in his notebook and do his 16 over??
