What's Up With Anime's Obsession With Teenage Protagonists?

I swear like 90% of anime has a teenage protagonist..

I recognize this is not only an anime thing but with all media everywhere, but what do you make of the obsession with teenage protagonists? in anime though I feel its even more amplified. you see the exaltation of teenage characters in mecha shows especially where some 14-year old kids are the only ones capable of piloting giant robots to save the world. has a shounen ever even had an adult protagonist?

why aren't there more adult protagonists in anime?

because much of anime either targets teens, perverts who are into teens, and wants to be accessible to teens and or young people.

As already said, teenagers are the target audience so that's a big part of it.

Furthermore, lots of Shounen start with teenage protagonists because it fits the development they go through. For better or for worse, people tend to settle in when they become adults, which doesn't really fit the adventurous nature of the Shounen genre. The whole (self-)discovery journey to grow stronger fits younger characters better because they are still growing.

Also, sixteen year old chicks are the bomb, especially when drawn with the bodily proportions of pornstars.

I legit didn't know LOL, I'm not that big on Anime, I was a big Dragonball Z, and Fist of the North Star fan. Just watched Avatar the Last airbender and there was another one I saw way back in the day that I loved but forgot the name of it, all I know is a chick got raped by a monster/demon motherfukka, if you know what I'm talking bout I'll dap you up for that also.
