It's the Japanese culture. Since Japan is so work focused, being a teen is kind of like the highlight of a persons life. It's the time when you can do whatever before having to put your life's focus on work.

yeah it should be asked how many kids are gonna watch an anime based on adults vs how many adults will still watch a show if the protagonist are teens.

many of these "teens" have the body of people in their mid 20s anyway.

I legit didn't know LOL, I'm not that big on Anime, I was a big Dragonball Z, and Fist of the North Star fan. Just watched Avatar the Last airbender and there was another one I saw way back in the day that I loved but forgot the name of it, all I know is a chick got raped by a monster/demon motherfukka, if you know what I'm talking bout I'll dap you up for that also.

Yea but remember Dragonball is Goku's life story, so when it starts out he's a kid. Also the focus of the Magna was supposed to shift to teen Gohan after the Cell Saga but fans kept sending Akirs Toriyama death threats unless he brought Goku back to life.
