What’s up with sitcom characters leaving their house an hour before their flight?

Damn near every time I see a sitcom episode where somebody gotta catch a flight they be in their cribs with no suitcases ready to go tombout “We gotta hurry up, our flight leaves in an hour”.

Even if u arrive at the airport exactly an hour before your flight, you might miss it, you definitely missing it if you leave your home an hour before your flight departs.

Am I the only one by this?

They use the sitcom only airports. Way less hassle, and some include free scene cutaways and time warps

1. Checked in via mobile/E-boarding pass

2. Only have carry-on bag, no checked bags

3. Have TSA/Clear pre-check for security

4. Airport 10-15 min away

5. Drive 15-20 mph over speed limit to save extra 3-4 mins

I only arrive like an ahour before my flights.

Usually fly outta smaller international airports and I always have precheck.



I went through security at either Midway or O'Hare in like 5 minutes during the middle of the day once.

In the older sitcoms defense, flying on a plane used to be a whole lot different pre 9/11 from what I understand.

With that being said, I know a goofy who did this in real life and missed the flight

I think he made it there 10 min before the flight was due to take off and was shocked they wouldn't let him board.

yeah, back then your friends and family could go in the airport, up to the gate and wait with you or meet you after your flight.
