My first car was a red 87 chevy iroc z; me and my boy went half on the car 800 each when I was fresh out of high school. The car had all types of problems; lights sometimes would not work at night, had to replace the alternator, window wipers did not work, brakes were bad, the passanger door would fly open and the engine would run hot.
We fixed all the shyt and had it for a good year; the shyt was not registered and the tags were expired and I did not have any L's. One day my boy had the whip and he let this clown push the whip and he hit a u turn in front of the police and they got bumped. They took the car and threw my homie in jail for priors. He call me and told me what happen; I was like ain't that a bytch; my homie got out and a couple of weeks later we saw some mexican driving our car, they sold it at a police auction.
It was back to square one; taking the bus, walking and borrowing other peoples cars. My boy moved to another state and we still talk about that car; back during that time crenshaw was popping during the hyphy mmovement we would push out there and do donunts and shyt. shyt was fun.

my homie's first whip was the '98 Blazer version of that same truck.
he rode it till the doors fell off... no, literally... the back tailgate fell the fukk off.
he ended up selling it to his uncle when it started giving him more advanced problems.
his uncle fixed whatever was wrong with it, added some chrome 22's and a green tailgate he picked up from the scrapyard (the car was red) so it was mis-matched as hell, but he ain't give a fukk cause he used it as a DD.

Breh. I probably wasted like $2500 just fixing all sorts of problems (heat,battery,alternator,tune up,taillights,wheel axles, alignment just off the top my head), but the piece of shyt car had days where it just wouldn't turn on and no mechanic I took it to was able to permanently fix itI learned how to drive in this car tho, my older brother taught me the basics but I really got comfortable driving alone. I used it for work and that year I was working in midtown Manhattan a lot. So imagine me with almost zero driving experience and only a permit, driving side by side with these fukking aggressive ass NYC taxi drivers...I got all the experience I needed with that car

Bought it from this cat who owned a body shop. Leather had no rips in it, and for a 15 year old car, it had only 80k on it.
Only had for a year, and I beat it to death. I couldn't really drive, and I just got one ding after another on it. I ran into the back of someone looking at a fat ass. Didn't even nick their car, but I smashed my grill up.
Eventually I banged out in the middle of a snowstorm rushing to work because I was late. I slid and hit a parked van.
Car was my roadie, I drove it every day.
