What’s with Indy wrestlers always hugging n shaking hands after matches?

:yeshrug: real fighters do it after almost every fight, even with a heated build up with personal insults and they're really trying to give each other brain damage

Exactly! That’s why I’m conflicted over being annoyed by it when the NBA/NFL does it all da time.

Apples vs oranges. Rasslin is all about immersion to suspend disbelief. Otherwise we might as well open it all the way up and just be straight performance art like gymnastics or ice skating. Have judges with score cards rate the matches/promos to determine who should be where in the pecking order. Fighting doesn't need that level of immersion. Because it's actual fighting. This would be fine as a one off but it's happening more and more and it's corny.

Uh...no. If real fighters hug and shake hands after a fight, there shouldn't be a problem with fake fighters hugging and shaking hands after a simulated fight.

There was definitely a period when WWE was doing it with the women so often and clearly just so it could be a "MOMENT" used for promo packages down the line that got old in a hurry though.

That's what I'm referring too. One offs every so often would be fine. But when people no sell beatings/matches to get up and hug to squash any heat they may have just created is wack.

Not every match is a blood feud and indies aren't always caught up in "sports entertainment". I assume you're specifically referencing All In, which for the most part were matches meant to simply be unique/good match ups and didn't have heel vs face storylines going in.

Unless its a storyline, people should be angry and leave after a loss.
Its a story being sold, its not real, saying real people do ________ is a terrible excuse because in case you don't know, wrestling isn't real.
You want to do theater then just have everyone come out and say I'm playing the character blank tonight, do your casting and bows at the end of every show, but no one wants that.

Specifically with All In, the only matches that were hyped up as personal beefs were Cody/Aldis and Page/Janela since he's trying to kill people named Joey. Those two matches should not have ended with any interaction between participants.

The rest of the night though they were just matches about proving who was the better man on that night with no real story, not a fight between a good guy and bad guy. The difference with indie promotions that have weekly TV is that 99% of matches are based on good guy vs bad guy rather than a "let the best man win" scenario.

Also it doesn't irk me as much as seeing people who are currently feuding liking each other's tweets or taking pictures with each other.
