What's with this new breed of gamer that feels like they should be paid to game online?

All these Youtube cats are running around opening up these Patreon accounts. I'm guessing because either the ad revenue is drying up. The Partnering Networks aren't paying like they used to or whatever.

Like this guy BrokengamezHD he opens one

It flops hard and virtually none of his 100,000+ subs will give him monthly payments to play and talk about games on Youtube and Twitch.

He then turns around here and tears his fanbase a new a$$hole here.

Are these guys crazy. I buy games, own every current system, and never would I expect people to pay me money to play the games I'm already gonna play cause it's my hobby. I don't understand the level of entitlement. When I was a kid we bought and played Playstation and N64 and that was enough. Nobody expected to be paid to do basic stuff they were gonna do anyway.

He wants the perks of having a million or so subs without having that many subs. He should be thankful he has the 75k+ he has now because people are lucky to reach that mark. He needs to realize, like most people, that you shouldn't be looking at YouTube for more than a hobby. The people who are actually got to where they are were either there for a long time or actually produce original content. He's trying to break into an already over saturated market.

I blame all this on Jim Sterling. Dude quit his job to bacically do what he was already doing there and they give him $10,000 a month on Patreon to do it.

The problem with BG is sort of like the problem with his associates BlackB0nd and Hard8times. These dudes love to troll and antagonize their subs and the audience in general. I once remember BG clowning the XBO by calling Gamestops and asking them how many PS4s and XBOs they had during the holiday they came out. Dude used to stan Playstation hard but he kinda toned it down a bit.

I'm not even familiar with dudes content like that so I didn't know he trolls his subs. You can't antagonize your audience and expect them to support you in return, that's just basic business practices. Those other YouTubers/Streamers he refers to throughout the video general respect their audiences, and interact with them in a manner. That's why when they ask for a like, or ask for a donation, they receive them.

I don't know. It just feels like dude needs to grow up and learn that YouTube isn't a money making hobby unless you invest years upon years into it. And even with all that, chances are you still won't be making much money. He needs to treat the fanbase that he has now better and stop worrying what else everyone says too.

A lot of the super popular Youtubers get GAF exposure. People like Boggie2988 and Jim Sterling are GAF darlings and every time they post a video somebody on GAF makes a thread about it. Getting approval from a big forum like that can make a Youtuber successful very fast.

this dude crying about "I spend an extra 45 minutes making it 60fps and yall can't hit the like button :sadbron: "

I checked out some of his vids, and honestly he's just boring. he has some informative content, but he's just not very entertaining :yeshrug:

I also think he should be asking himself if there's something about his content that attracts this "crumb side"

His content is mostly based on flame war type stuff that stirs up fanboys.

He also doesn't pander to his fanbase and he repeats the same thing several times over and over again only slightly changing his phrasing and I'm talking about in the same videos back your back sentences.

If you see people be successful and see what they're doing maybe you mimic them. Instead he and his cohorts are defiant about not pandering to their fanbase but still expect the same results the peeps that pander get.

Jim Sterling is the guy in the mainstream that calls out bullshyt from these game developers and publishers consequences be damned.

As for Boggle he's cool peeps. Deserves the success he gets and let's be honest he's too big to work a 9-5. It's good that he can feed his family just off his videos. I can't watch Francis videos anymore but I watch his normal vlogs.

it's like he doesn't understand that after you make your bed, you have to lay in it. he might have got a lot of views with that 'flame war' crap, but it doesn't exactly attract a positive audience

I don't even think it's so much that these other youtubers "pander" to their audience, but rather that they're just generally just being goofy and having fun playing games. I don't wanna sound like a hippy talking about "positive energy" or whatever, but that's kind of the situation here

Its kinda like how 50 Cent blew up taking shots at more established rappers and centering himself in controversy. Dude sold a lot of records really fast but flamed out just as fast and now he probably can't even go gold. These Youtube cats took the Youtube equivalent of that sort of path and now are stuck in that lane.
