It basically comes down to this. One's true self comes out when there aren't repercussions to their actions. The internet allows for a level of anonymity that is not afforded to them in real life. I mean.. some of the most disgusting comments written on youtube are probably made by the coworker in the next cubicle over. You know.. the same one that you had lunch with yesterday..the things people do behind the anonymity and security of a computer screen
What you are seeing when you interact with people day to day is merely an illusion. It is as axiom said, people can only truly be judged when you take away the risk of punishment. This is why people in crowds are particularly so dangerous, they cease seeing themselves as a 'person' and begin identifying as a giant moving unit. Your average person is a pathetic mess of insecurities, prejudices, and outright hatred that we usually never see because society frowns upon that sort of behavior. What we live in is sort of a matrix-like reality, but the people have every ability to see that they are being deceived, they just do not because the alternative would be worse to them.
if you feel this way, why stay? why not take your game to africa?
