Don’t Be Like He-Man
So I was reading this where the Guardian actually took the side that opposes Iggy on the topic.
Iggy Azalea, Azealia Banks and hip-hop's appropriation problem
http://www.theguardian.com/music/2014/dec/24/iggy-azalea-azealia-banks-hip-hop-appropriation-problem
I think the article and the large majority of hip hop fans completely miss the point.
What separates Iggy really? Her Skin Color? Her fake southern accent? Cultural appropriation?
Skin Color: Why focus on a white chic doing hip hop when 90% of black rappers glamorize what white people stereotype black people as? Why focus on a 1% of something outside your circle and completely ignore 90% residing within your circle?
Fake Southern Accent: Hip Hop as a whole is mad fake today, and the artists to blame are not white.
Cultural Appropriation: If she is doing that then you are saying hip hop culture is about twerking and talking about nonsense, when as qtip mentioned it's roots are the exact opposite!
Ya'll see, if you really break it down it's complete nonsense! Of course she makes trash music but that's not the point.
It seems everyone hating on Iggy has completely missed the point and do not understand hip hop at all.
It's like blacks are blind to their surroundings and think that it's the late 80s and Public Enemy's Fight the Power just got released last week or something.
Nah man, hip hop no longer has a culture, so how can nothingness attract vultures?
Hip Hop is empty now, it has almost no depth and barely any creativity and worst thing is the fans are fine with that.
Now you may say oh ya well there's still some positive music, true but very little and who's in the audience?
Many whites!
Knee jerk views are very dangerous!
