Grandfather wants to give me his for free, keep it in the family, not sure i want it though. Its all stock, no money into it. Would have to fix the transmission and id be able to drive it wherever. Im assuming its slow as hell :francis: , so that means engine swapping which i dont have the knowledge or money

If you have kids, you can just hold on to it until you retire and pass it on to them. By then it's going to be as valuable as model t's are today since so much fewer of them would be on the road .

As far as personally driving it, that sounds like torture. It neither looks good, nor runs well.

i disagree, it'll probably be near worthless, look at all the '50s cars that are glutting the market rn, nobody wants their great-grandpa's beater they have no emotional connection to

imo only extremely rare cars, or examples with unicorn options will be valuable, like pink/pearl brown lfa level rare

anyway, it'll be glorious for summer night cruises, who cares if you bend corners slow?

the build quality's gonna be ass but it's not like you're gonna daily it lol, you'll be aight with it in small doses

If it’s a 2 door and not rusted into a flintstone car, it could be a fun, long term restoration.

Engines swaps aren’t super difficult if you can rent a picker and have some extra hands to help. Brake and transmission swaps are the same, just have the right tools.

The 2 door G body Malibu's are fire. There's one in my neighborhood just sitting that I wish I could get ahold of. They're in high demand down here in the south. They have a lot of potential. I wouldn't call them slower than any other car of that era if it's got either a 305 or a 350. But if it's a V6 then it's gonna need a swap. I'm not crazy about the 4 doors but even those make a cool cruiser if they're clean. Throw some Corvette rallies on it with some white letters and ride out. I wish I could get one for free. Shiddddd
