I really enjoyed MGS4. I never really understood the hate for it. The only part I didn't like was walking around the city looking for Big Mama. Other than that I had a blast. The cut scenes didn't bother me because I expected it. It was the last game for Solid Snake so I knew Kojima was going to over do it. You could tell he had a very hard time letting that character go.

Considering some of the very same people shytting on mgs4,wanted explanations for every damn thing in mgs2. I get annoyed when ppl shyt on mgs4 and it's over abundance of cutscenes.

Like how the hell did you expect him to wrap up mgs1/2/3 and include all the favortie characters yall wanted to see. While dealing with the main plot. It was pretty much a reunion special.

MGS 1/2/3 worked so well because they treated the prior games like ex girl friends. They spoke well of them, but never tried to connect with them directly. You got loose references and allusions to the other games, but they never tried to pick up the slack for them and explain them. It left the in the past.

My only legit complaint about the game is I feel that kojima gave solid the boot way to soon, as a way of trying to close the chapter and move on from the series. I honestly think he thought it would be his last MGS game(while he was making it).

I liked all of them, but honestly I have to go with the first one.

Playing that as a kid (I think I was in 8th grade or so), shyt was revolutionary and mindblowing.

3 was the best of the series and is when Kojima peaked as well. He blended story & gameplay perfectly and it truly was one of those revolutionary games.

2 was decent. I thought the tanker part was boring, but once you get to the second part of the game, the fun picks up and doesn't stop till the last battle. Don't remember much of 1 since I was a kid, but i definitely would put 1 higher than 4.

4 has no replay value, at all. I attempted so many times to pick it up and play again but the build up is annoying and the story is convulated as fukk. From a design aspect, the game was designed beautifully. Just didn't have the gameplay to back it up.

I remember back when part 2 was in development Kojima wanted to retire Solid Snake. In part, that's why the overall plot is sloppy. The game is full over corny plot twists to explain away the mistakes that were made. I personally have always believed that Kojima regrets having killed Liquid in the first game and that's why he made Ocelot get possesed by his arm which was always incredibly corny to me. It's funny because so many people criticized the game for the cutscenes and now I'm seeing reviews with people asking for more cutscenes and complaining that the story took a back seat to the game play. Gamers are so fickle.

MGS1 was my childhood game. Nostalgia all over. Number 3 after (Wasn't fond of it at first, it grew on me though)
Never played 4, never had a PS3 but I heard it was more of a movie than a game, lol.
