Usually the first thing I ask myself after someone ask me for money, is "you can't get a loan or have a credit card?" :patrice: And if we aren't close, we haven't you asked the
people you're close to???

Have you screwed them over and trying to make me next??:martin:

FAMILY:
Thanks God no one in my immediate Family ever ask me for money. Only relatives, 1st cousins and Aunts. I have a gambling Uncle that borrows but allow pays back.

My rules is, if you're known to be broke and struggling for years, never keep a job, you can't get but maybe 20$ from me to start off.

If you're a gambler with no job, you can't get a dime. If you've screwed anyone I know over, you can't get a dime.

You're better off asking me to give you 20$ than to ask for a loan and never pay back.

FRIENDS:
I don't have any close friends I don't trust or that are broke. I'll give them the shirt off my back. If they ask for a 1000$, I know it's serious and I wouldn't hesitate. But if they don't pay back, they can never get another dime and it might ruin our friendship.

FEMALE:
I rarely have women ask me for money. Most know i got it. But I don't deal with many broke people. I have one female friend/ jumpoff, she's an army officer sometimes she needs 100 or 200$, but always pays me back. There's this young fine chick, I smash regularly, mentioned her here before. She never keeps a job, she asks for 40 and 60$ sometimes, I get it to her, no problem. She always makes it up to me. And i forget about the few coins.

I loan out what I can afford to give away and without expectation of getting it back. I don’t get asked often so if my people ask I’m assuming they are in a bad position. If/when they give it back then it’s a plus for the situation.

I normally decline, I just don't want to set any kind of precedent that I'm a person people can depend on
That probably sounds wild but people will bleed you dry then get offended when you ask to be repaid on time
Like you alluded to, the people normally begging can't be depended on for shyt and probably wouldn't/couldn't be there for you if it ever came to that

When it comes to lending money I turn into Vince McMahon. I give opportunities, not guaranteed contracts or loans. :youngsabo:

I got an opportunity for you to mow this lawn and clean out these gutters for that $75 you barking about :youngsabo:

and you coming in as an independent contractor, if you get injured on the job that's on you :youngsabo:

My parents are nearing retirement age and are in rough financial shape due to bad investments, years of unemployment due to poor health, and poor spending habits

Both my sister & I get those “Can we borrow XXX until next month” or “can you cover our grocery bill” texts pretty frequently

We do it, because we love them and they do pay us back most of the time but it sure is annoying. Neither of us ask our parents for anything financially
