What do you have for the GOAT beat-em-up game? The candidates I can think of are -

TMNT: The Arcade Game

Golden Axe
Double Dragon (1, 2, or 3)

The Punisher


Threw a couple other ones on the poll. This is a tough, tough call for me tho.

Double Dragon II on NES was probably the first beat em up game I played

But the Streets of Rage games on Genesis were my childhood

And whenever I went to the arcade, TMNT, Simpsons, and X-Men all put in work

Comix Zone is also an underrated classic. Can't consider it GOAT status due to lack of co-op though.


I think I'll go with X-men. That six player co-op was legendary.

Damn the Simpsons tho, that shyt was blassic. X-Men was crazy. I remember dl that shyt in PS3, and man....no way you could have beat that shyt w/o @ least putting in like $50 in the machine as a lil kid. shyt was insane w/ all 4 or 6 players, shyt idk.
