My first question was: "Where was his mother?" He was living with some random guy at 15, why wasn't he with her.
He clearly has some kind of vocal impediment or mental condition, not to mention he's poor and Black.
The whole concept of "Superpredator" seems to have been entirely sensationalism, the media made it seem like there was a new breed of super kid out there and that there needed to be harsher criminal measures put in place to stop them. In reality that wasn't the case, there were a lot of kids who fell through the crack of a broken education system, broken families and poverty, who came up hungry, angry and violent with little to no outlets.
Edit: Just finished watching the full thing, he got out at age 28.

Nobody even got hurt, he was forced to do it by another (unnamed) adult, and was charged for robbery of each clerk in the store, as opposed to robbery of the store.
He also appears to have a mental defect, though that's all just speculation.
