One day I was wondering if this had anything to do with the drop in quality of rap music and music as a whole. When you felt like these dudes rapping could be you and your friends and now there so removed from that. When rappers wore the same shyt you did and all your friends were wearing. When the cars they were driving might of been out of your price range but still seemed attainable.

It just seemed they were more in tune with the everyday people that they were selling there music to. They were just another person but they just had an ability to rhyme now you have people who try to potray a bigger then life persona or lifestyle and it's just not in tune with the listeners. Do you think this is one of the reason for a dip in quality music or just a coincidence?

Little Brothers "The Listening" is my favorite relatable album... I felt like those dudes rapping could be you and your friends which is probably why i love that album so much. They arent rapping about rapping all day

The whole "I have swag I dont have to know how to rap" era jumped off in 1997 with Diddy. Nobody was really talkin about lambo's and rarri's,versace, louie etc..until Bad Boy got on that shyt. Cash Money carried that torch but they just seemed more like a bunch of project nikkas that hit the lotto.
