When I was young Halloween was spooky as shyt. Creepy ass commercials about the haunted houses, especially one in Long Branch Nj. I would be watching sat morning cartoons eating cereal on the floor I was mad young and a commercial like this would pop up. Terrify my ass.

Then a scary movie was always released in October just in time for Halloween. Close your eyes for the previews!!

Trick or treating was scary and that was in Queens NY. I can’t imagine Halloween in the country and suburbs as a kid.

Now that shyt is like a cosplay and hoe convention.

I think the internet showed everyone there is no supernatural spirits such as ghosts. Most monsters are just demented CACs, no such thing as mummy’s, jersey devil, vampires, wolf man etc

Honestly, some years back when I realized while Halloween was coming, target out uo Christmas decorations. The fukking holiday cant breathe without a Christmas song going off in some place. The calendar flipped to October an immediately commercials started having bells in them. :dahell:

Commercialism hoed out Halloween so if you WANT to be scared, you have to seek that shyt out.

you want to make Halloween scary again?

How about the fact Halloween night and October in general there is usually an UPTICK in homeless people and children going missing.

October is a harvesting month, and satanists need goats blood for their autumn harvest. Sleep tight folks.

I see your point. Even as an adult, the vibe is just different. I rarely see kids out trick-or-treating nowadays. :manny: The ones who do usually wrap it up around 7pm. I remember carrying pillowcases with my friends getting candy. If we weren't greedy we had enough till December. I think the reason why is the same reason people freak out when someone knocks on their door today. Folks are paranoid.

I find that kids being scared of horror movies isn't that common nowadays but it's about parents I think, my people weren't into them when I was a kid, I couldn't even stand to look at something like freddy krueger or chucky for more than 5 seconds at a time :mjlol:

My girl watches horror movies constantly and her kids just grew up with them and it's the streaming era so they are desensitized. I don't agree with kids watching that stuff, but I'm sure the reason a lot of kids are desensitized is for that very reason.

And yeah, cosplay hoes are a factor, but there's always been holloween parties for thots even before social media
