When did KD become known as an elite defender?

I need answers sway. nikka been in the league 10 years and never made a defensive team and he is 7ft and more athletic than most guards.

This year he really transformed. He started blocking shots a little last year, but he really stepped it up this season and began to reach his defensive potential.

He has always been phenomenal (I still think he is a bytch tho) on offense. One of the best I have ever seen (still a bytch tho) But I cant call him an elite defender just yet. He got to put in more work. Its easy to play great D when you got two lockdown defenders in Klay and Draymond on the floor with you.
