Let's be reality, if most women had to choose between an azzhole with with a good salary, his own place and a car and your ideal man physically, mentally and spiritually but he didn't have a car, took the bus, lived with roomates/parents and flipped burgers. This is the thing ladies, you set the standard in what is a good man by choosing who you sleep with, have relationships with and you let put a ring on that finger, and the first word in most of those cases is 'provider'. Chris Rock was dead on when he said women will not date down financially, finance before romance. Even if a woman had her own then for the most part the man has to be equal to or not greater.

Just curious because a lot of men think that their salary and material items means they are good men while some of YALL still ain't worth a pot to piss in.

I see guys acting like they are owed good women just off the fact that they got material items.

Well it's easy to get confused because as women attach a huge amount of the value of a man to his ability to provide.

But here is the crazy part. Women's standards have fallen.
I always thought most of this (place on ur own, car, job) was just a given for people beyond the age of 21. The problem is that our standards have fallen so low that we're celebrating people for shyt they should be doing anyway.

A job, a place of your own, a mode of transportation is are just normal hallmarks of adulthood.

I should hope people ain't out here thinking that entitles them to something when you should be doing that anyway for yourself.
And once you've gotten those things, you still need to be adept at human interaction...

I never advocate switching your style up to get women regardless of where you are in life. I'm all for doing you and being the best you that you can be but women set the standard in what they find desirable in a man just like we set the standard for what is desirable in a woman and while it may vary from person to person, there are general things that are all common place. Before anything regarding character or swag or style come up women want a man with a job a place and a car. At worst two out of three. Black men in general make less than everyone else, so therefore having those things in your 20's makes you a more desirable person econmically, all other factors being equal. I agree women who have their own for the most part aren't dealing with dusty bums, but even women who don't have their own are going to go for men who have those three things if possible.

My point is that women are being hypocritical by saying that having a job, car and your own place doesn't entitle you to women when most women use those standards as a baseline and knowing that especially when it comes to Black men, those qualities are at a premium.

Being a drug dealer is only sexy to high school girls and women who have little going for them and have low self esteem.

Sure you can get a dime with just the basics, the problem is that most guys don't have the patience and discipline to go after the right woman for them. My son dated a girl who had severe emotional problems, multiple abortions, no education and she dumped him for this Kevin Federline type white dude. He was real broken about it, but he just kept working on himself and doing good at his job and now he met this girl who is very beautiful, comes from a traditional family (Carribean family) and is an assistant manager at an upscale spa, and is up for a promotion, he is much happier, now I don't know how the relationship will go, we'll see, but he took his time and aimed high.

In the grand scheme of things, what is a dime? Is it just a stunningly beautiful woman or the perfect ideal. I feel like the term 'dime' is relative to the eye of the beholder. When we post 'dimes' on this site, some agree, and some don't think she's more than a 7.

I agree on "dime" that's why I don't really use except as more as a stand in for a girl most think is really bad. The few chicks I know like that as actual friends never messed with a dude that wasn't 6 figures or close to it. One chick has a Panamera turbo never messed with a dude that wasn't really 6 certs life lol. That's what I'm talking about when saying that.
