When did the whole White guy- Asian girl(yellow fever) thing started?

Browsing random forums and i'm starting to notice an abundance of white men who are starting to go for asian women because they're "submissive".

Is this 'yellow fever' thing a new trend.

The funny thing is I got plenty of asian friends and Asian girls might be the least submissive women in the U.S. after black women, a lot them take no shyt. Maybe the ones that date white dudes become submissive to scoop one, but most of the time that tiger mom personality definitely jumps down to most of the daughters.

From my experience, it's usually the white dudes who can't get white chicks who chase after asian chicks. They try to play it off by making up excuses like "asian girls respect their men" or "asian girls are submissive".

They know a lot of asian girls have self esteem and self hate issues so they see it as their back up plan.

I personally have never heard any of the men who actually date them say that asian women were submissive...I've only heard that as an outside opinion from other people.
I'm not sure where the craze started, maybe with John Lenon and Yoko Ono?
