You know - I completely forgot about New Day in this context.:ohhh: :snoop:

Those dudes are pretty much the Internet/ Black Twitter come to life. Their response time to memes/ running jokes is phenomenal - but I refuse to believe that Vince has any kind of creative input into their promos. shyt is too witty and too current for him. I will give him credit for knowing a positive reaction when he sees one - hence the record breaking tag title run.
I guarantee you Vince sits in gorrilla during New Day promos completely baffled. For example, you know he didn't understand shyt about that whole rap battle thing. Or that whole Final Fantasy bit at Mania. Hell, I bet everything about Woods' youtube channel perplexes him, even now that the company has seemingly co-opted it.

But you can't argue with money, and New Day brings in the dollars. So kudos to Vince for letting them cook. Although, god forbid they ever start to get main event level support from the crowd. Vince's whole tune on them might change then cause you know he doesn't want them there.

Honestly,I think he lost touch after 2007, when his wife ran for congress and was "forced" to make WWE PG. :yeshrug:

Edit: I know there might've been more before that, but this is the biggest one I can think of right now. It changed the flow of the whole company in my opinion.

He fades in and out of touch... sometimes it's like he gets it or at least isn't interfering with it... but other times it's like, WTF.

I think he was out of touch during the mid-90s when it came to presentation of his product, but he did still have touch with the fans when it came to who they liked. When they were into Bret Hart, he made sure Bret was a top guy in relevant feuds. When Michaels started getting face reactions, he made sure to turn him face and push him. When Austin started catching on, he rode the wave and let it happen the way it was supposed to.

When the Attitude Era kicked off, I feel like he had a ball. He was havin' fun onscreen and probably loved the business he was doing. Seemed very in touch with the fans at the time.

He's hardly ever been on the cutting edge of pop culture, but he's been pretty good at knowing when to pull the trigger according to fan reaction.... these last 10 years, not so much tho. He did it with Punk, did with Bryan, but just about everything else has been forcing face pushes for people that crowds are reacting to negatively (especially Cena & Roman), or keeping hot heels out of the main event scene. Sometimes, he'll catapult a MF before they even warrant it, but then he'll hold back on someone else as they're getting hotter than the people he's catapulting. It's confusing, honestly. Owens could be the best heel in the company, but Jinder Mahal is WWE champion on Smackdown (hopefully this new storyline is to put Owens on top). Braun Strowman has been on a roll all year and probably isn't even close to a consistent main event run on RAW, but Roman will be headlining Mania as a face that hasn't gotten consistent cheers since 2014. I dunno, man :manny:
