When Did you find out Wrestling was scripted/fake?

i use to @ my dad when he was telling me wrestling was fake and shyt but I remember Konan did his face plant finishing move and dudes face was nowhere near the mat. I was just like

My older brothers were constantly with that fake shyt about wrestling, and I defended it to death. I honestly can't remember the exact moment I figured it out, but what cemented it was finding out Scott Hall was White. I thought he really was a trill Cuban!

When I saw Beyond the Mat for the first time. I knew it was sus but I didn't fully understand until that movie.


this was about 1999 or 2000. I got my mom to rent it from blockbuster since I saw the rock and mankind on the cover.


that movie low key changed my life. i had no idea about ECW or anything at the time

i remember watching ecw and thinking that shyt was "real" seeing tommy dreamer piledrive bytches and seeing new jack stab nikkkas with fork had me on sum put these bastids in jail type shyt., mix in the real life storylines , profanity and characters u couldn't tell me wrestling was fake. wcw with the whole nwo shyt was fukking at the time i thought nash throwing mysterio into that trailer was some criminal shyt. it wasn't until beyond the mat came out and opened up my eyes more about the business.
