When did you realize that the media and our education system indoctrinated you?

The older I get the more I realized how fukked up we are. Seems like we never get the truth on meaningful things from mainstream media. There's a narrative for everything including in our educational system. I always dismissed conspiracy theories but the truth is somethings are not that farfetched. If we are constantly handled and lied to its hard to believe what the real narrative really is. This goes with both the Right and Left of our political spectrum. I've moved closer to the center of alot of view points. I always saw myself as part of the extreme Left until I really met some of those folks in real life and they are legit nuts. Then there are folks on the extreme right that are racist and bigots so I can't ride with that. And both parties in the center is OK with the statuesque which changes nothing for us. The media plays a script and our educational system is a mess and feeds whatever narrative that teacher believes in which is pissing parents off and rightfully so.

I first suspected it when I worked as a teacher for a few years and definitely did once I became a parent.

Honestly, very young. I couldn’t place my finger on it but maybe 3rd grade I would wonder “why do we do the Pledge of Allegiance every day? :jbhmm:

Not saying I knew what indoctrination was at that time but something just felt really off and I’ve been a skeptic/pushed back ever since :yeshrug:

I think we should pledge allegiance. Why hate a country you live in? If that’s the case, ppl should leave. 194 other choices

And I think that’s cool you feel that way. To each their own :manny:

Standing up and praising a flag FELT weird to me. That was my point. Making kids pledge allegiance in the 1990s as if they were looking for commies in the 1950s felt arbitrary at the time.

When I started learning about secret societies and that basically all major media conglomerates are owned and controlled by a very small percentage.

I had racist teachers in elementary school. I knew not to trust what came out of their mouth from a very early age.
