Around 16. Group of friends turned from being a little silly to absolutely dangerous and I noticed it right away. Did my own thing ever since.
A few years later signed up for the service and never looked back.

One went in for murder and other ones started a long road of going in and out of jails and working dead-end jobs to this day.

That's when I left my former church and lost my ex-wife and most of my friends.

I almost hesitate to say follower, but more of a passive participant. But - same difference 🤷🏾‍♂️.

The process began at 14/15 and didn't fully develop into total independence until 22/23. Early times had me trying to find myself, fit in with my core group of friends at the time - never blatantly doing what someone said but more so trying to do things that elevated me in their eyes and benefitted me in other ways. By 17 or 18 that was over, but I didn't part ways until 22/23 when I realized the trajectory we all had was very different - and taking unnecessary risks to my future with those idiots was not worth it.

Around HS. Hated being known as part of a clique or such. Liked being cool with all folks.

Additionally, when I realized my former family liked me in a "passive nikka with no aspirations" bubble like them.:wow:
