When do we realistically think demand for the PS5 will become normal?

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a console continue to be this high in demand and sell out in seconds a year after release like the PS5. And the way things are going, I can’t see demand slowing down anytime soon. With holidays coming, it’s only going to get worse.

I’m not sure if next year will get better, especially with Horizon, God of War and Gran Turismo plus the third party AAA games. People say chip shortage is a factor but Sony is already selling more at this stage than the PS4 and there was no shortage then so they’re clearly making a lot, but demand is just insane.

Demand is only going to grow with more releases. GoW, Horizon, FF16, Forspoken….I think if anything the chip shortage is helping all the consoles right now. Not being easily accessible (in stores, on amazon, etc.) makes it feel like more of a reward to have one

This chip shortage only makes the consumer feel special. Nothing good from this for Sony.

I do think the duck is right about shortage leading to desirability

I still think this entire console cycle was a disaster so far... and the fans pushed it (which is crazy that we got what we asked for)
But they didnt have any foresight or planning into this shyt at all, not even if the chip shortage didnt exist

we got these quickly thrown together under developed things to be honest
They just threw the shyt together with a little bit better guts and were like "Good things coming soon, buy now"
I do like certain parts to both consoles but the upgrade so far hasnt been anything that's changed the game enough to be blown away


faster load times and quick resume is cool in concept, but not for the price. It's not like I saved 20-30 seconds to where I wasnt going to sit down and game for hours anyways
the frames and fidelity are butter smooth which is great... but honestly PS4 PRO and XB1X should have been nearly the same shyt


would have made sense to give consoles a proper rollout. alot of shyt is still just developed for current gen

probably wont be normal for a couple more years and i agree with Greenhornet; this cycle could have been pushed back because the software isnt really ready anyway. none of these games absolutely need new hardware to exist right now (with the exception of ratchet and clank).
