When I see something like this, I question the Inherent movement. Mixed girl gets trashed.

MIxed girl gets trashed for claiming to be black.

Why can't this woman claim to be black without any controversy?

Look at how petty and racist most blacks are towards this girl! It's unbelievable, so race is based on appearance and not her culture?

Black people are just as inherently racist and tribalistic as whites and every other race. The only difference is that Blacks don't have the power to project their racism and tribalism on to others.
However, when they do get a chance project, like in the girl's case, boy will they.

look at these nasty comments:

"NO NO NO< you are not black, you want to be black, but you are NOT!!! one of your parents are black and that makes you biracial. You look like you are 100% white and just accept it for what it is. Better luck next time in your next life."

"U shudnt be considered black u shud be considered what u are and that's biracial. If ur black what makes ppl like Wesley snipes? It's more than just skin color that has to do with being black. Hair is also an issue. U have very stringy almost straight hair. U can literally pass for a white girl with a tan or a Latino chick so when u say ur black u put the rest of the black community on a plain they can not compare. I understand that u have family that's black n all but ur not JUST black ur half white as well. U look more white and therefore I feel u shud claim the side that u resemble more with."

"You're not black, you're biracial. Biracial people aren't black. By calling yourself black, you're following the outdated "one drop"

"
you are biracial though, not black but it doesn't matter you can say whatever but just expect to get a lot of shyt over it lol "

"I must admit, I did feel some type of way just by reading your video title. But!! After listening to what you have to say with an open mind I have to agree with you.

In "our" defense, you're not black. You're partially black and I felt sideways about your title because I took it as you were claiming to be full black (IOW ignoring your Non-black side). But you weren't and it was my ("our") assumption of this that makes me ("us") feel offended when mixed people say they're black.

I am reminded of Sandra Laing, a black woman born of 2 white parents (blood tests confirm). None of us are 100% anything. "

She's not black. She's mixed. Black folks should stop claiming these people as our own. Let them be their own people.

I thought race was a "social construct" now?

edit: I'm being sarcastic before anyone twists this.
. sarcasm or not.

That was my hidden agenda with this thread, and the reaction in TLR was more than satisfying for me and certainly met my objectives.

Race is not a social construct. It is based on biology.

Like this young women, I also have 1 black parent and 2 black grand parents. I was also raised under black culture for the most part.

However, I look less black than her honestly because i look zero percent black. Unlike her, i never really embraced being just "black". I dont even really considered myself to mixed or mullato.

Blacks don't feel any kinship towards me, and i definitely don't feel kinship towards them. It is very strange because black culture is the only culture that I really have any intimate knowledge of. In the end, it has no effect on me.

i have almost no daily interactions with black people. I dont clique-up with blacks in any social situation or with black coworkers at work. I have never had a serious relationship with black women.

i know very well that if i had "black" personality or if i looked black. None of my closest friends and most importantly, my wife of 6 years, would have anything to do with me. I see the friends that they keep, their reactions and body language when they are around blacks, the implicit and explicit generalizations and remarks that they say. I am
accepted by people who have a disdain for blacks. I don't understand any of this at all, even after all these years of life.

Then I get all these genetic tests and because of all the rape-blood from whites in My black family, I am very far removed SSAs genetically. My person belief is that all this strangeness' in my life is simply explained by the random chance of genetics.
