Jen The Prude
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
I was listening to NPR earlier this morning and they had a segment that was ostensibly about the differences between Google and Apple's digital assistant technologies. However, the buried lede of the segment centered on the different approaches each company takes vis-a-vis consumer data/privacy.
In essense, Google monetizes your private internet activity by doing everything in its power to exploit and sell consumer data to the highest (advertising) bidder. On the other hand, Apple doesn't care about consumer data; instead, the company only is concerned about the number of devices it's selling.
And so fellow Apple aficionados, the next time a smug, insecure (and low-key envious) Android user tries to make you feel bad about being on Team Apple, take solace in the fact that their privacy is being violated as they type.
And anyone who tells you an Android is a more enjoyable experience than an iPhone is a downright liar. I had an Android for about 8 months and it was the worst 8 months of my life. I broke down in tears when my iPhone 6 arrived in the mail. It was like I was seeing the world for the first time.
