is it best to put "unemployed" on applications?

I'm trying to get a new job and some places I applied for seemed like I had a HIGH chance of getting due to the work quality and my experience. I keep thinking maybe since I put "employed" it might of had an affect on it. :manny:

Say you are employed. If it is a skilled position and they (the new company) really like you they will go above and beyond to get you.

I had similar situation where the hiring company wanted me so bad they were willing to offer me $25K more than what they normally pay that position to get me to leave my current company. Basically, once my background check cleared and discussed my current salary the hiring manager asked me straight up and I quote "what will it take to make you come work for us?"

I ended up not taking it because i love my current job... and my employer matched the new company's offer. :D

In this market, employers often won't even take a second look at the resume of they see you are unemployed. I've had managers tell me "if this person isn't wanted now and not working, why would I be interested in bringing this person in?

I always put employed and it hasn't never affected me in a negative way.

The last 3 jobs I've had I got while working somewhere.

Just make sure you have a good reason for when they ask why you want to leave your current job that won't make them question you.. I always say their wasn't any room for advancement or growth opportunites.

My job is cool now, But I always send out resume and apply for job that I really want or might not be qualified for with the hope that I can get an interview and wow them there.

It worked for the job I have now :manny:

When I was looking, I put that I was employed. They were able to work around my work schedule as far as interview. They also kinda took me seriously.

Jobs are like bytches. When you don't got one you struggle to get one, but when you get one every other one wants you and half the reason they want you is cuz other ones are interested in you too and they wonder what it is about you that all these other ones want you too. Always tell a job/bytch you got another one even if you don't and that makes them desire you more. SAD but truth.com

If you've been in the military then fill out an app for the post office. Handler or driving positions. As long as u pass the pre employment test, they HAVE to hire you.

Before I got my current gig, i was going on interviews for the post office and in every interview they told me that if someone else with a military background interviewed they HAD to give them the job.
