When people break down words and try to redefine them based on the syllables/letters?

What is that shyt called.

With numbers it's "numerology". But I can't think of a question that will Google properly to apply it to words (tried like 3 and gave up).

I been watching these vids with people tryna break down law and different things by saying stuff like "black = bleach = white man. The actual blacks are the white people" and different shyt.

(vids are mad long but start at the relevant timestamp for today's topic)

Here's another about telling the judge you're not Black so they can't prosecute you.. or something

Besides "what is this called?", any of you hip to this trip and can explain it to me in terms a Breh can digest. I done watched a few hours worth and I'm still confused.

Etymology breh

its basically breaking down the structure of words to look at their root origins

some words like Astronaut come from Astro (meaning space in Greek) and Nautes (which means sailor in Greek)

Therefore you have the literal meaning of the word being the Sailor of Space

it's actually pretty cool thing to research and look up in your spare time

I'm speaking more on the In Living Color spoof of the smart dumb version.

Like with numerology: my birthday literally means "this day of this month" but a numerologist would divine all kinds of extra shyt.

Look at a little bit of the vids. I don't think this is the same as scholarly examination. It's more like a poetic interpretive treatment.
