When someone talks to me about mythology as if it's literally true..

I immediately lose respect for their intellect.

The myths have lasted this long because they contain important information, but they are poetry.

Until we - Black people - can identify actual facts and know the difference between fact and fiction I don't think it would be possible to get our shyt together.

I be talking about history and a niqqa bring up Adam and Eve. Then they be seriously pondering shyt like "well who did Cain marry then if there were no other people on Earth?" and doing all this mental gymnastics. It's like "Dawg. The English translation of the Bible is mixed up. That's basically it."

Now I'm open minded enough to realize that there are mysterious and spiritual things. Invisible things. But even these things would be covered by science. We just don't know the math that describes that which seems mysterious.

People will refuse to take modern medication and reject scientific advances but believe that Adam was made from mud and his bytch Eve was made from a rib.
They also believe that a friendly ass forgiving white/black/brown dude got kilt, came back to life in three days and just skeeted up to heaven like

Yes OP I'm shocked at the amount of superstition on the coli, I personally didn't realise it was that high. Fortunately, as a whole belief systems hasnt affected people's ability to survive and thrive in the world.

However There seems to be a recent growing distrust for logical thinking, and any support of logic is portrayed as support for a non existent conspiracy. Recently I've seen coli threads on:
Demons
Spirits attacking them in their sleep
Demons in the music and music industry
Power of Crystals
Curses and Hexes

You ask for receipts and you get a 1st hand account or a internet quack site, with zero thought behind how this phenomenon could actually work.

As a people we need to address this, we got sucked into religion, ok fine, which is now deep rooted. Going forward we need to implement some intellectual skepticism to new information. This is how so many people are getting sucked into finance schemes, ponzis, MLM, stock market frauds etc.

I actually fux wit some of the word sound power stuff and energy stuff (crystals) but not on a tip of having faith but on the tip of experimenting with them and seeing what they actually do (if anything).

The worst is when people see clear contradictions or clear falsehoods but they feel obligated to defend the idea.
