yeah, when this came out, it just kinda came and went with the wind. i remember one of my friends tellin' me bout it but otherwise i'd never even known about it

As for the thread...Movie came out in 2003...but not nationally until 2005

Jay supposedly started having problem wit Dame when Big Pimpin was making noise so that was Volume 3 late '99

Then he started saying that Black Album was going to be his final release and he was retiring... that was 2003

He then signed as President of Def Jam in late 2004 and the movie released (limited) right before in 2003

I always thought that the movie was loosely based on their relationship and with the time frame of everything that happened there is no way in hell that it didn't play a part.
