When was the last time that the U.S government was scared of its citizens?

They should be scared. They're banking on the fact that it would be damn near impossible to get everybody to work together and give them their issue.

Best case scenario they we reach a middle ground without scarring the earth too much, and other powers don't take the opportunity to get even

Maybe the 70's, but I would guess it wasnt much more than political fear, not existential fear. With little exception people only tend to revolt when they're starving.

Dont mistake social media rage for action. Behind all the caps-lock posts and exclamation points is a fat ass staring at a screen...alone...most likely in a poorly lit room...eating ice cream.
A tyrannical government couldnt ask for better.

If the people of the US felt their livelihoods and well being was being threatened or infringed upon by an evil tyrannical govt, rest assured there would be pushback.

The reason you aren’t seeing anything like that is because like you said, the people that claim to be he most outraged are just hypocrites yelling at clouds. They won’t admit it aloud but the truth is they love America. They love their freedoms, their Starbucks, their Netflix, their Xbox, their iPhones... they all know full well that they live lives of privilege compared to people in other countries and no matter how hard they beat their chest and claim “enough is enough”.... there’s no chance in hell they would ever give it all up. Because again, they love this country.

Actions speak louder than words..

Agreed, more often than not hunger is when people decided their life is worth risking. History suggests that people can and will deal with a lot more than you'd expect....hunger just isn't one of them.

Hunger, maybe some huge privacy/freedom overstep. The seizing of property perhaps.

Basically the more powerful and overseeing the govt becomes, the more likely this is to happen. This is partly the reason sonmany people do NOT want govt controlled healthcare... because that would grant them too much leverage over us.

Beyond that, life is too great here for anyone to cause a ruckus... no matter what BS they put out there on the internet. It’s all just virtue signaling.
