When Was The Last Time You Had That "WOW, This Next-Gen!" Moment?

last time for me was in 2011 when Battlefield 3 came out.

I had just bought a new PC to play that game & Skyrim and my mind was blown. that fighter jet mission literally had me BF3 felt a few years ahead of its time fasho. it felt like a genuine NEXT-GEN experience in 2011

haven't gotten that feeling since....

TLOU2 is more "next gen" than all the 9th gen games that dropped so far

The original Xbox had quite a few games that looked a generation above what was available on consoles at that time.

Chronicles of Riddikk
Jade empire
Conker remake
Splinter cell
Ninja gaiden black

Those games looked crazy to me, made ps2 and gamecube look last gen.

good question...I’m tempted to say RDR2 for graphics and BOTW for gameplay even tho technically it was on the wii u

I’ve experienced it this gen as well graphics-wise with miles morales

actually I have to include TLOU2 as well...what they did with facial expressions alone is unparalleled

Actually yeah I'll say the switch and BOTW.

I remember walking around playing it and thinking this is amazing a full blown touch screen mobile console.

Going down the elevator and walking out of Vs apartment and realizing all that detail was just one, fairly insignificant part of the game
