The main event is;

  • Gunther (37, but, hasn't been in the WWE too long)
  • LA Knight (40, but, hasn't been around long)

These guys have some years left in the WWE ^^^

35 years old+ and been in the company around 9,10 years, already;
  • John Cena (2002)
  • CM Punk (2006)
  • Cody Rhodes (2007)
  • Drew McIntyre (2007)
  • Jey Uso (2010)
  • Randy Orton (2002)
  • Sami Zayn (2013)
  • Roman Reigns (already told us he's planning to retire soon)
  • Seth Rollins (already told us he's planning to retire soon)
When are really looking for guys to start building for 5, 10, 15 years down the road?

I have grown to accept that wrestling will always be a old head game, due to bookers and wrestling fans refusing to adapt to the changes with young blood. Unless you have that "aura" like The Rock, CeGOAT, and em, you're either working your brand up in the indies before the recognition, being in midcard hell until its time to strap the rocket on back, or just pray that wrestling fans will stop living in the past.

Sadly this will be a tale as told as time, regardless of the WWE, AEW, etc...experience and age>>>>>>>>>>>new blood rising :manny:

Feel like have the reason there a bunch of 35+ year olds in the division is half Vince’s inability to push more than one star at a time & HHH lack of building young talent on the Main Roster

All in all until the writing gets better it’s not a factor in how young or old the roster is

Writing also helps which sadly most promoters either lack in penmanship, or play it safe with execution. Also, theres another thing where there's about 100 wrestlers on a roster, and tv time is limited. Like how in the living hell can a wrestler old or young get to the brass ring, when the ones that are in the ring making the bread and butter.

People tend to forget that wrestling is a business first, bullshyt second. Thus why its crazy for wrestlers in 2025 thinking that they are going to be above Main Event, NXXXT, ROH, or Collision. Sometimes the gig is a gig and wrestling itself is a job with no benefits unless you are the top dog. Sadly, the doghouse is full and the yard has no space to show your worth.

Thus why the almighty New Jack spoke the prophecy from 2006/7:

"yeah I wanna quit, I want to get out of this fukking business. I'm sick of this shyt"

Gotta sell tickets and the long time names are familiar.
You saw how upset people were that old ass Rock didn’t appear at Mania.
Very few can be Brock/Goldberg.

This isn't true.

I got into it over Melo being 30+ and Laveck needing to hurry up and do something.

Check this out;

Laveck (born in 1969)

IC Title - 1996
King of the Ring - 1997
European belt - 1997
WWF Heavyweight Champion - 1998

HHH was a Kliq bagboy AND he got put in the dog house and did all this before he turned 30.

This is a trend more than it's a exception; the top guys get crowned in their 20's, usually.

The Cenas, Ortons (The youngest World Champ), Lesnars (won the top title at 27 I believe)

Letting dudes have 5 year runs in NXT or sit in catering until they have grey hairs is a new development.

Dudes used to be in NXT max 3 years.

shyt Seth; Born in 86

By 30 (2016)

NXT Champ
Tag Team Champion
US Champion
World Heavyweight (the top belt) Champion TWICE

I don't know where we tried to change the math to "Guy don't get crowned til their 30 plus)

shyt, Stone Cold went to several promotions;

By 30 (1994)

WCW US Champion (twice)
WCW TV Champ
WCW Tag Team Champion (twice)

He got to the WWF (1996)

Million Dollar Champion (1995 [Dec[)

IN 1997, alone

Two Time IC Champion
Two Time Tag Team Champion with Shawn Michaels and Dude Love

1998 (34 years old)

World Champion

This is pushing it, but, My point stands;

The future isn't gonna sneak up on you.

The reason I chose the men's division is; women winning championships and going over legends within two, three years.

Look at how Lyra and Tiffany are being pushed versus the men their age ranges.

Or is Laveck no better than a terrority booker?? :sas1:

This is another problem;

Okay, maybe we've have a Seth run at 50. But, Seth ain't on none of there levels. Maybe a few Roman appearances.

In 5 years, the WWE isn't even gonna be able to do that.

Sadly its the case with wrestling period. Its just all busines 101 and if you are lucky to fill those shoes of household recognition, of course you are going to hold onto your spot and tell a up and comer "this doesn't work for you brother"

No Hoegan.

Here's the thing with Triple Hard Times and Bootstraps.

As much as heads hate to admit it, but dude is no different from Vince, if not worse. Dude embodies the worst of the territories with the business mindset of a indies kickpad embracer. Also, this is bigger than Melo, as the promotion itself is just "Celebrity Deathmatch" with wrestlers as the trainers. Its going to get to the point where you just get to the WWE because you want the bucks on autopilot, and a roof over your head in the good parts.

Something that Melo is sadly embracing, as this is just another day in wrestling :francis:

That's because the Rock was already integrated into the top storyline in the company.

Nobody was looking for Rock at WM39/40
