as long as your worth is greater than $10 billion, every two years $1 billion will go to a random bottom 10 country in the world.

a road, port, or any other infrastructure will be built and named after you.

this happens to all billionaires around the world. every 2 years, they give 1 billion to make the world a better place.

after 999 million dollars, you literally cannot spend enough to go broke. you have basically won capitalism.

why keep it growing? why not use it to lift millions and possibly billions out of poverty and, in turn, keep them buying your stuff and making you perpetually rich?

How about for every $1000 you make, you give $100 to people who need it.
already happens

People don't become billionaires in a vacuum, it requires us giving them our money willingly for them to become billionaires, they don't just print it and declare themselves rich.
If you don't want billionaires makes your purchases from mom and pops stores instead of ordering everything from amazon.
Ride a horse like the amish do, instead of buying a Tesla. You blaming them for being rich as if you all aren't complicit in their success.
sometimes you give enough money away to make people rich without even getting anything in return. Like all these pastors out here buying yachts and private jets

Far easier to not give billionaires money, then it is to try to change the entire system of capitalism we live in.

You guys need to move past this concept of wealth as solely a means for consumption. At least have a more sophisticated argument for wealth distribution.

Sounds like communism to me.

Two things i see happening. One, people will be hiding assets in trusts, doing accounting hocus pocus. Two, less incentive to reach that threshold, decelerates the quest for efficiency and innovation. Therefore less technological progress. I guess this is the capitalistic argument. I'm sure their are good pro communism arguments as well

If you pay the required taxes, fees, etc in the country where your company operates, and run things legally and ethically, you don't owe anybody anything.

If you decide to help others with your resources, that's great.
the world's first trillion dollar company, apple, is irish. it operates from america and is run by americans.
in fact, most tech companies with billionaire ceos are irish. so how has apple, built by americans, operates in america, sold to mostly americans, and profits the most from america...how have they helped america with resources? the irish have now 700 million euros invested annually into research and development. anyone under 18 is pursuing coding and the top talent in europe, soon to be the world, will come from ireland.

does that make sense?

it's socialism. they keep their wealth but a proportional amount of it goes to a proportional amount of those in need.

ex; the top 1% in scandanavia pay more in taxes than the bottom 20%. the taxes go into national funds, hospitals, schools, infrascturure, healthcare, etc. there is a clear deliniation of what and where taxes go to

no one's made that argument. wealth accumulation is as old as economics itself. the idea that all wealth is accumulated by the very few has lead to the downfall of several civilizations. let's not obfuscate that by modernity
