I think this is true. My dad's cousin (my second cuz) was married and had 2 sons. She was hurt by her husband and became a lesbian and lived the lesbian lifestyle openly for 25+ years. She told me her siblings treated her badly, was ashamed of her, had people in family tell her that her sons should be taken away and her mom was highly upset at her, even with her having kids adding to family. The ostracism was bad that it affected her mentally, emotionally and psychologically. Hearing her made me change my views of gays and lesbians.
