If kung fu, karate, etc masters are truly the greatest fighters on Earth, then there's little explanation as to why neither martial arts masters nor Asians (guys with strong martial arts backgrounds) are so infrequently (i.e. almost never) MMA champions.

Where are all these legendary Bruce Lee fighters, brehs? :mjpls:

There's no "kung fu master" that's getting past American fighters like Weidman. I don't even think they can fight Roy Nelson. It's all a myth. :mjpls:

There are guys like Machida and Pettis that have a base in TMA, but you have to have other skills in your repertoire to be a top level MMA fighter. With that said guys that have elements of TMA in their style definitely have an advantage when it comes to utilizing unique striking angles and techniques over guys that strictly focus on Muay Thai and boxing.

All of those techniques are adapted from TMA, and not something that your textbook (boxing, wrestling, Muay Thai, & BJJ) MMA fighter could pull off.
