Cause Bishop Lamont only wanted to bytch about things, and didn't want to do much else.

Caltroit, The Confessional, Pope Mobile and ****** Noize were good mixtapes, but he didn't do shyt else.

dude was trash, the only hit he had was the Dre banger "Grow Up", but he leaked that track HIMSELF to power 105 to get his buzz going without Dre or Iovine's approval and that basically soured their entire relationship

he said he was tired of being on the shelf and wanted to get his buzz going but he bit the hand that fed his ass and got cut

He spent more time partying in LA than he did really pushing himself. He thought the Dr Dre co sign was going to do everything for him. He also kind of pushed Warren G off to the side once Dre took more notice and he made his best music with Warren G (IMO) Plus him leaking that music because he was salty didn't help obviously.

He is no where near Kendrick when it comes to making music, seriously.

I used to be a huuge lamont fan

I dont give a fukk what anyone says neega noize is a top 5 mixtape of all time

Shoulda cleared samples, polished it up a bit and added the dre touch and released it as an album

Caltroit was dope as well

But soon after it seemed like everything he released was just whining about hip hop

He got stale fast and lost it

Kendrick Lamar has a movement - TDE and his was responsible for creating his own "buzz" , the Dre co-sign came after he had established a fan base and developed anticipation for his album. His debut album would have been solid regardless of the Dre/Interscope situation, it probably won't have sold as much as it did though.

Bishop Lamont hadn't done none of the above, he had a few decent songs tho :yeshrug:

He had some dope mixtapes, just didn't know how to promote himself. The joints he did with Dre were all dope, "Hallelujah" was a banger, I think if it was pushed "I Dominate" could have been huge.
