Top 5 for me. It is hard to rate since a lot of rappers have taken his style and made it better so it is hard to do polls like this for me. I have always had him in my top 5 since he was one of the first the grandfather his style.

Word, Kane is that dude. Was just wondering as seen a lot of talk on Kane recently where people ranked him. I love Kane, I wish he would have dropped more cause skill wise he's easily top 5.

think of the best rappers out now and place their music side by side with BDK, Rakim, KGR, KRS, etc... short of what Kendrick might be able to do eventually there isn't a clear cut way to compare them...nobody's dropping complete albums, not to say there isn't dope music but I don't see "Classic" material front and back...
That's what I mean, I think the mainstream rappers bar Nas and Jay aren't competing with Kane, Ra, Kool G, KRS and them, so therefore they would be rated higher. I think it's just about the music, Kane has done a lot of great work.

Exactly, I think 80's and 90's blend enough to compare but it's a stretch to compare 80's and 2000's...who's the best rapper of the 2000's??...there is pretty much a go to list for the best rappers of the first 2 decades...that would mean by default every rapper after the 90's is at the bottom...
