Madlib is sloppy as fukk. I can't count more than 6 incredible beats he's done off the top of my head. 5 of them were on Madvilllainy. The other one is Infinity.
I like the more accessible, funky side of Madlib: "Accordion", "Rhinestone Cowboy", "Fancy Clown", "All Caps" and "Strange Ways"

Of all the adjectives that could possibly be used to describe Madlib's production, "sloppy" would probably be about the last.
really? that's his whole style tho. Sometimes it's brilliant, as I mentioned in the tracks above. Those tracks have that beautifully slippery, sloppy "blunted" feel. Most of the time, it's sloppy and not fully formed imo

He may not be as diverse as Dilla, but Madlib has surpassed his body of work as a whole. If people ever take the time to sit down with his catalog like they did when Dilla passed, Madlib is GOAT

completely agree, madlib doesnt operate like any other producer out there to the point where alchemist is practically using his formula at this point. a guy like madlib could care less about this thread, his ranking or the internet period. that nikka is probably sitting down with a tape deck recording old tv show reruns to sample.
