Where do you rank Sean Payton all time as a HC?

Same career records both coached all of fame QBs both have a ring. McCarthy rehabilitated Farve into all pro again and developed Rodgers into a superbowl winning mvp caliber player and gave Dak his best years and his teams are always in the mix.

Why is Payton over him?

To me, a lot of it comes down to clock management. I'd say McCarthy was one of the worst I've ever seen, at least for coaches that were hewd coaches for a long time.

Maybe I shouldn't have said significantly better, but I do think Payton is better. Has less to do with me thinking Payton is great and more to do with thinking McCarthy was not that good.

:gucci: Payton be resurrecting dead organizations from the grave, in unheard of circumstances.

McCarthy ain't did nothing, but latch on to teams that were already winning.

Payton up there with Reid as the highest paid coach in the league. McCarthy unemployed :mjlol:

Payton had the no call against him against the Rams in the NFC Championship Game

Then the dumb ass safety against Minnesota on the last play cost him another run in the playoffs

Dude is a hell of a coach despite his attitude sometimes..

But like i said u have to laugh when u hear the media go crazy over a dude like Jon Gruden who won with Tony Dungy players and haven’t done shyt since….but everyone talking about him being a nfl team front office or on the sidelines

Even though they have similar playoff numbers on paper, McCarthy has some of the most head-scratching, awful losses I’ve ever seen. Especially the NFC championship against the Seahawks. Meanwhile Payton a lot of fluke losses like the games against the Vikings and Rams.

Agreed.

I'm not as high on Payton as some others may be, but I do think he's better than McCarthy. You don't really remember a lot of times where you'd question Payton for awful clock management and collapses, but you do remember that with McCarthy.

Gruden is overrated, but let's not forget that while he won with "Dungy's players", "Gruden's players " were good enough to win the AFC..

Wherever nikkas need to be told on
Yeah. A ring with two different teams is big but I still wouldn't put him ahead of Reid with 3 rings and one win away from rings with two different teams.
Broncos were on the verge of being the Raiders of the past 25 years and he’s immediately helped restore them to where they usually been. No small feat.
