what's y'alls take on the "compton" album?
in my honest opinion, ain't nothin' here really all that or great to me
it's some cool moments here and there with some of the beats and production (nothin' mind blowin' though) the vet mcs sounded the hungriest they have in a long time and kendrick out of all the new talented is easily the best because the other new talent didn't sound impressive at all to me
and in more than a few spots i ain't feelin' dre's voice and flow (which is a first because that was never the case on "the chronic" or "2001" however i know we talkin' bout different writers for those albums for dre) and then there's the singin' on this album, aside from marsha and jill scott who both did great as usual, that anderson paak guy's voice is cringe worthy to me
and the couple of other singers were aiiiiiiight at best don't stand out to me at all and that's where nate dogg is missin' so dearly here
as a whole album and project, "compton" is all over the place to me. i been listenin' to it almost non stop on and off since early this mornin' (the first time since it was released a few days ago) and it still ain't makin' no kind of impression to me
but what y'all think?
