Grew up between Astoria and LES. Man walking down the ave (ave d) don’t even feel the same anymore. The whole city is overrun by hipsters and tik tok users. Nothing feels authentic in this city anymore Don’t even get me started on Astoria

yea NYC is finished. I saw the writing back in 2015 when i saw all the immigrants and white women walking around.

used to hang tough in the village and soho back in my middle school/high school days. those were always the most trendy areas, but now they're full of people from other places trying to emulate the originality and vibrancy of NY in its prime, but it just isn't the same.

gentrification doesn't just screw over native black people, but the other groups who helped build nyc into what it is. these new comers really threw a wrench in the game. i'm not even as comfortable in nyc as i used to be.

I’d be happy if my city was less grimey and more trendy/money invested into bad areas.
