How hard is it to get into?

Do you meet a lot of women there? :mjpls:

It's not really that hard but I'm naturally very flexible so it was probably easier for me. I do struggle with strength sometimes...

There's only 2 men in my yoga class and it's always packed...

Look up the caloric burn for yoga- it's not going to be anywhere near as high as running and lifting.
Yoga isn't really for exercise as much as it is for alignment, mobility, and a more spiritural/centered practice of self care.

i'm a 200-Hour RYT (registered yoga teacher) registered with YogaAlliance fully insured and CPR/First-Aid certified. what sort of questions do you have? $100 a month for unlimited yoga is a fine deal as long as you go more than 4-5 times a month.

What are the benefits vs regular exercise?

Have you done/seen DDP Yoga?

here is a link from the American Osteopath Association that can explain it better than i can:
http://www.osteopathic.org/osteopat...itions-library/general-health/Pages/yoga.aspx

in my opinion, yoga and regular exercise go together. i like to cycle, and i ride my bike a lot. as with any other activity with repetitive motion like cycling, my body tightens up and yoga is excellent at releasing the muscles in my hips and lower back. yoga is also an excellent stress reliever and practicing yoga has helped my body build strength. instead of replacing exercise with yoga, think of yoga as an exercise supplement.

i have heard of DDP yoga but i would never practice it. i don't think it follows any of the mental/spiritual tenets of traditional yoga, but some people don't want anything to do with that . :ld:

i think if it gets people into other types of yoga, good for them. i feel the same way about bikram or "hot" yoga.

Dude I did it for a year. I was actually training to become a yoga instructor before I moved to NYC two years ago. I had to do 100 hours of classes and go through a training course. The training course cost $2,000 that I didn't have at the time, so that was the end of that.

But yeah, that shyt had me on my game 100%. I love yoga.
